"Majority of TV viewing now 'on demand' for 1 in 4 Brits"
YouGov’s new syndicated ‘Smart TV’ tracker has revealed that just over one in four (26%) Britons claim to spend more time watching TV through 'on-demand' services, such as BBC’s iPlayer and YouTube, than they do watching traditional 'linear' broadcast TV.
Data from this multi-country study has been acquired from 2,000 nationally representative respondents in each market and a boost of 1,000 Smart TV owners in key strategic markets. The study focuses on technology device ownership, content used and attitudes around the convergence of the internet and television to enable manufacturers, retailers and content providers to sharpen their proposition and better communicate the Smart TV proposition to those whose don’t currently own or use a Smart TV.
Examples of some coverage from preliminary results in December 2011 and and from the new 2012
